It took more than 8 months of planning and 3 attempts to finally get to the top. But it’s well worth it, my favorite hike in Vietnam so far (2026).

Getting there

There is no trail marked on Alltrails or Khomoot.

Height

On the cairn the height is given as 1879 m. A Samsung Galaxy S24 with about 1 meter accuracy reports only 1866 meter height. The height map of this area shows the point of maximum height at about 1860 meter. See below.

History

This mountain is on my Todo-list for quite some time. It is too far away from Saigon for a daytrip, so it is best to drive near there one day, stay a night, and then hike early the next morning. In September 2025 I was on my way to the Half Marathon in Can Tho, and learned about the Couple Pink Hearts Homestay. It is one option for my plan.

The second challenge is to find the hiking path. The peak is labeled in Google maps as “Bainan” on the wrong location, some 900 meter north with only 1730 meter height. It is also not on AllTrails or Kohoot. But I found one trail on Wikiloc: Brah-yang and alternative Ngày 1 trekking Brayang. I downloaded the GPS data (here is a copy) and used the App … to follow along offline. Try this one too: https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/brah-yang-160629633

I tried to hike this mountain already in early April, but could not find a starting point. I stopped on the way to Daytrip to Núi Lang Biang
