I Started to work at The Coffee Today, but because of a broken AC I didn’t sleep well. It’s brutally hot!. Some Tagalog and shared with Susana, planning for the days ahead. 9:30 would have been the Vietnamese congregation, but I overslept. Late breakfast and get the backpack “fixed” but 2,000,000 VND stolen and missing 1000 riel in return, walk to train station and buy train ticket, slightly sick

Monday, April 29
Still in Cambodia on the Visa run. But the bus goes to Sihanoukville, since I overslept and didn’t take the 6:00 am train I paid for with 12 at 1:00 pm. Arrive at 5:00. Stay at OneDerz. Full of unfinished empty concrete shells for large casinos and hotels for Chinese tourists. I got a Burger instead of Cambodian or Chinese food (duck looked suspicious).

Return from Sihanoukville, too many unfinished Casino buildings for Chinese tourists, nothing special really. Got 10 for Luna cafe (20/20/50), 10 for large pepperoni Pizza near THE BIG EASY (20/50)

This is a holiday even in Cambodia. The AC is broken, we can’t sleep. The reason: not enough refrigerant, compressor works for 80 seconds, then switches off because of low pressure at the gas side, after 160 temperature the whole system normalizes and compressor starts again. I get up at 5:40 sunrise time, get a coffee.
The National history museum opens at 8:00 AM but I only join at 9:30 and finish everything at 12:00. Oldest is 6th century, many of Angkorian period 8th to 13th century, many inscriptions, but none translated. Breakfast Big 10 for entrance for the Museum.
In the afternoon I work on the Tripitaka size project at The coffee Today https://github.com/kreier/tripitaka. Result for bible: 31,102 verses! And in KJV 35,049 sentences, 790,573 words and 3,223,201 characters. If printed on A4 in Consolas 11pt with 17/19mm margin you need 1062 pages https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kreier/tripitaka/main/python/kjv.txt in 4.2 MByte, has even page numbers. Evening Burger and 2 beers - $40 left.

Slept until 10:30 since the AC is finally working. Lots to do: Visa, bus ticket, preparation congregation meeting. I figured I lost 2,000,000 VND when the shoe cleaner “fixed” my backpack. That’s the most expensive fix ever, could get a new backpack for this. Anyway, Luc Lac at The coffee Today and start planning.

It’s time for the bus to go back to Saigon, with the visa until the end of July! WRONG! Still no visa, and I have no idea yet where this will lead!

Visit the immigration office, and my Visa until August is approved. But I have to leave again!
